I haven’t done an update for DeMarr in a long long time.  Last I wrote, Monica was arguing with Vincent and the kids were very young.    Monica died at age 77.  Her daughter, Lucia, has a daughter (now a teenager) by her flatmate and has just had a son from an affair with a married man.

Anyway, time has passed.  The kids are grown.  Daeron went off to university and Radu grew to a teenager.

I can’t recall when Drako, died – certainly when Daeron was a teenager.  It seems I haven’t written about his death anyway.  He died at the age of 80.

While Daeron was at university, his mother, for some reason, got angry with Vincent, so they were not on speaking terms for a while.  Probably some passing townie flirted with him.  Who knows?  Anyway, Vincent figured if his wife wasn’t speaking to him and he was being accused of cheating, he may as well cheat.

The woman is Cate Champagne, a twin daughter of the recently deceased Arthur Champagne.  Cate is living a life of hell in a trailer with her slob of a husband.  She has one baby daughter, Ellie-May.  Vincent represented all she didn’t have.  Even when Vincent aged, she continued to see him.

Daeron, meanwhile, was staying at the big house on campus at Academie le Tour (the “dorm” for rich kids).  Champignon twin girls, Brigitte and Elise, were also there, as well as Sam Arends.

Brigitte, whose grandmother was Sorrow DeMarr, was at first attracted to Sam, but she had an unexplainably strong attraction to Daeron (she was one of them, basically).  Of all the children of  Romain Champignon, she was the only one with black hair, and looked like her grandmother.

Daeron flirts with Brigitte

It all seemed so right for both of them.  They are, of course, 2nd cousins.  Drako and Sorrow were siblings.

Daeron proposed.

Brigitte accepted.

Brigitte and her twin sister, Elise, graduated together and left university.  Sam was a couple of years older and had left earlier.  Daeron graduated shortly after.  He and Brigitte moved in with his parents.

They both got jobs – Brigitte in the natural science career, and Daeron followed his father’s footsteps and entered the paranormal career.

The wedding was at home, in the evening after work.  Unfortunately, Vincent was still at work (working until 3 am).

Below, looking on, is Romain’s now teenage son, Cheverny, sitting next to his mother, and Romain sitting next to Catriona.  Evidently, I haven’t changed the formal hairstyle of Felice since she (very recently) became an elder, as she now has short hair.

Brigitte didn’t like the gowns on offer in the family wardrobe, so she went shopping and found some new fashions at the local store.  She looked stunning in her new black gown.

After the wedding it was Radu’s turn to head off to university.
