When I last updated, I hadn’t realised that the game hadn’t saved before it crashed! So I had to go through the birth again. I took the opportunity to rename the twins to Veles and Verene.

Talking of makeovers, Viran’s hair looks different now.

He’s a good dad.

The twins quickly grew to toddlers.

They played together,

and get on well (although I’m not sure that Veles is enjoying the hug quite so much).

Their parents taught them to walk.  They’re only halfway through their toddlerhood and they can walk and talk and, I think, are also potty-trained.

Over in Bluewater, Viran’s aunt, Demona, died at the age of 77. She had been a captain hero.

[My game has been crashing fairly frequently. I think it’s cc. I’ve been trying to figure out what’s doing it but it’s very time-consuming, taking my time away from actually playing.]

[PS: I really hate the new blog layout when writing (with the menu on the right-hand side) and when I write a post it doesn’t scroll down so my text disappears at the bottom! I have to physically stop and scroll up to see it. Really fucking annoying. Thanks WordPress.  If it ain’t broke, don’t fucking fix it! I also hate the new reader display.]

Vrancea soon got pregnant.

Viran is in the science career but Vrancea hasn’t found work yet.  She wanted a baby. She didn’t expect twins however.  It makes sense. Her father-in-law was a twin.

Viran was at work when Vrancea went into labour.

Luckily it was at night so Miranda could help out.

The first baby – a boy, Vacul.

The second – a girl, Savika.

Miranda introduced her granddaughter to the great outdoors.

Miranda and Vlad complained about the twins smelling, even lecturing them (but did nothing about it).

Yes, Vrancea found herself quite attracted to her father-in-law, especially after she saw his naked body…

However, at dawn, he and his wife always retreated before the sun got too much.

Perhaps it was just as well that Vrancea didn’t get a lot of time alone with him.

Viran’s brother, Kiran, was at university and noticed an interesting dark-haired student in his dorm.

Her name was Kaia and it didn’t take Kiran long to get to know her better.

He worked fast and quickly proposed before someone else did (she attracted a lot of attention).

They graduated about the same time and Kiran decided to move to Bluewater, away from his vampire family.  At first they moved into an abandoned castle on the hill above the poorhouse, but the castle had some serious routing issues and was demolished. Instead, they chose a newly-built modern house overlooking the sea.

Kiran found he had to fence off the driveway entrance to the side door to prevent visitors going there instead of the front door.  The interior also had to be redecorated, especially the floor which they hated.

They decided to marry privately. Kiran didn’t want an evening wedding in order to invite his parents and really didn’t want any fuss.  Thankfully, Kaia also didn’t want a big wedding. She just wanted to get on with life and find work.

Viran and his fiancée returned to Veronaville.

Vrancea was introduced to her mother-in-law-to-be first of all.

Then, when she was outside, she didn’t notice as a bat approached.

Turns out it was her father-in-law-to-be.

There was a dangerous attraction there.

However, they were being watched.

Yes, Vrancea definitely found Vlad attractive.

Miranda would have to keep an eye on her new daughter-in-law.

Viran quickly got a job in the scientist career. Vrancea welcomed him home.

Viran’s uncle came home from work with him one day, but was soon sent on his way.

The wedding was set for late afternoon.  Several guests were invited,

including Sebastien, the rock god.  He gets attention wherever he goes.

The ceremony:

Viran chatted to his bro, Kiran.

Aunt Demona shared a table with the newly-weds.

Next to her is her son, Vince, who we’ve seen before.

Viran and his new bride sneaked some time alone before the reception was over.

Miranda managed to get to the wedding reception,

and chatted to the bride before they headed off to their honeymoon.

It seems Miranda’s sister-in-law was there, contemplating the change that vampirism had had on her.  She felt a little envious of her looking so young and beautiful but would not have wanted to become a vampire to do so.

Vrancea discovered what an empty house it could be during the day with Viran at work. She, herself, had not yet found a job.

At least that’s what I think it was when Vlad brought Arturo Perez back from several years being dead.  Arturo was Chantal’s first husband many years ago.

The zombie Arturo wasn’t even used as a servant, but just locked up for Vlad’s amusement.

However, the hungry Arturo started a fire when trying to barbecue some food in his prison.

His zombie life was short.  Zombies weren’t much fun after all, thought Vlad.

His son, Viran, was at university enjoying life.

He met the beautiful Vrancea Romani.

He fell in love.

It wasn’t long before he proposed.

Viran soon graduated in science, wanting to be a mad scientist like his father.

His parents came to his graduation, even though it was during the day.

But they didn’t stay long for obvious reasons.

Meanwhile, one of the invited party, Fernando Perez, mourned the zombification and additional death of his distant relative.

Vrancea also graduated and moved back to Veronaville with Viran.

Miranda was getting closer to becoming an elder.  Vlad couldn’t bear the thought of seeing her get old.  So he used his powers to hypnotise her…

before biting her,

so she transforms into a vampire.

Once the spell had broken, Miranda realised what Vlad had done.

She worked off her anger then confronted him,

for now she had to give up being mayor.  Taylor McCullogh (married to one of the Arends clan) took over as mayor.  Vlad tried to let her see the good side – that she’d live to see her grandchildren and perhaps great-grandchildren.

Viran, meanwhile, was about to head off for university.

Once he left, it was going to be a lonely life for Kiran – alone every day while his vampire parents slept.

Vlad was still trying to get his wife to become a vampire, so he could continue living with her indefinitely instead of her getting old and dying.

“We could spend so much time together” he argued.

“But then I would have to give up my job.  I’ve only just become mayor and there is so much to do!”

“You don’t need a job!  We are wealthy!”

He didn’t understand, that she actually enjoyed working, and meeting people.  She was saddened.  Each morning he disappeared into his secret light-protected room.

It was a lonely life for her during the day.

Kiran noticed that his father had no reflection in the mirror.

It looked weird when his parents finally made up, his mother kissing an invisible person, it seemed.

Kiran grew to a teenager.

Viran, meanwhile, was abducted by aliens.

Luckily he was only a teen, so no alien baby for him.

And oops, I’ve forgotten to take note of what’s  happening with the DeMarrs – not much, from memory.

Miranda got promoted to mayor.

With her and Siobhan Mountebank as city planner, they plan on making a few changes.  Already a town hall has been built and some houses made cheaper for graduates.  There are plans to add a restaurant and park to Bluewater village and monitor the size of the cemeteries with plans to build another one soon.

On a more personal note, Miranda still prays that Vlad will want to cure himself of vampirism.

Little did she know that Vlad was watching.  He pretended to be washing windows when she finished.

But no, Vlad wants to be around to watch grandchildren grow up.

Viran will soon be going to university, but there’s some time to go yet before grandchildren are on the scene.

As the member of a rich family, Xavier was entitled to live in the fancy house at the edge of the campus.  His distant cousin, Patric, was also.  The other flatmate was Velaria Black who was there because her mother was a DeMarr.  Patric and Velaria hit it off immediately.

He felt rather left out and wondered if he’d meet anyone at the student centre.  It seemed unlikely.  However, it wasn’t long before a new student moved in.

Her name was Ilse Mantell and Xavier was intrigued.  She was totally different to anyone he had imagined.

Ilse, for her part, didn’t think much of the rich kids.  Velaria looked spoilt in her fur coat.

She thought Patric was a bit of a wanker.

Xavier didn’t rate.

She thought they were all pathetic.  Someone had screwed up the accommodation application.  She didn’t belong.  So she kept to herself to begin with.

Xavier tried to introduce himself and strike up a conversation.

But she just didn’t seem interested in talking to him even after several attempts on his part.

Finally, though, she thought he was better than the other two.

At least he didn’t stare at her like Patric did.

She knew they talked about her.

“What do you think of the new kid?  She’s a bit of a weirdo.”  Xavier didn’t agree.

The next time he talked to Ilse, she let him and even responded.  Success!

It was a conversation about food that broke the ice.  Velaria wanted to be a chef, but all she ever made was toasted sandwiches and, later, pancakes.  Xavier had noticed Ilse making spaghetti and commented.  They laughed about Velaria’s attempts.

Finally, Xavier, plucked up the courage to kiss Ilse – on the hand,

and the arm.

She didn’t reject him and even hugged him.  Xavier felt some strange feelings.  This woman did something to him.

Ilse made an attempt to join the others at dinner times when Xavier was at lectures.  At first it was awkward.

But then everyone relaxed and got talking.

By now, Velaria and Patric realised that Xavier had a thing for Ilse.

Ilse even joined Xavier when he was sleeping, although nothing further happened.

One day, Xavier’s ‘aunt’ (Xavier’s grandfather’s illegitimate child and also a student) dropped by.  She wondered about the dark Ilse who never spoke much, and seemed to ignore Cara.

Ilse making her spaghetti instead of eating the abundant supply of toasted sandwiches.

Cara stayed for “dinner”.

Ilse had already eaten her spaghetti.  Xavier joined the rest.

He thought his aunt seemed immature,

then reminded himself that she was the daughter of a prostitute.  What was she doing at university?

Finally alone, Xavier and Ilse spent some time in the spa pool.

Ilse was becoming fond of him.  She even forgave his faux pas greeting…

(Is this woman ever dressed, you’re thinking?)

They were falling in love.

And then the big moment for Xavier.  He couldn’t imagine any life without her.

To his delight, she accepted.

No-one had ever shown her this much love.

The DeMarr family have reached 10 generations (if you don’t count the change in surname).  Advance apologies for the picture quality.

It all started with Manon and Shannon Collie in the first days of Veronaville.  They lived in a house opposite Veronaville Market.

Gen 1: Manon COLLIE

What Manon did for a living is lost in the mists of time.  The couple had five children: three boys and two girls: Mellon, Ben, Steven, Helen and Ken.  Ben’s line died out with his grandchildren, Len and Denim. Manon died, age 76.

His next son, Steven, married townie, Marie Rossi. Unfortunately, there isn’t a good picture of Steven.  No-one remembers what Steven did for a living either.  He died age 69.

Gen 2: Steven COLLIE

Marie and Steven had one child, Kenny.

Gen 3. Kenny COLLIE

Kenny looked very like his father.  Records are lost for him too, as to what he did for a job.  He had a brief affair with Melody Tinker and they produced a daughter, Lyrica.  It was Kenny, however, who married a vampire:  Contessa Adriana Tan.  He changed his name to hers, and they produced a son: Damien.  Kenny died, age 72.

Gen 4: Damien TAN

Damien had more of his mother’s looks.  Here records get better.  Damien is recorded as having been a cult leader, and he became a vampire in turn.

Damien married Marla Biggs and they had two daughters: Demonica and Romania.  However, Damien divorced Marla, as he had spotted the beautiful Serena DeMarr.  They had four children – four girls and a boy: Lithia, Ebony, Amphyra, and Luka.  The family moved to the Summerdream house.  There is no record of how old Damien was before he died, but he lived to a great age, only killing himself while still a vampire.  By then he was a great-grandfather.

Here he is dreading the sun while painting a picture of his wife (sadly the painting was lost).

Luka’s first wife was Ginger Newson.  Luka was also a vampire, possibly also a cult leader (there is no record).  Again, no good picture is on record.

Gen. 5: Luka DEMARR

Together they had two girls and a boy: Erike, Sorrow, and Drako.  (Sorrow went on to cause havoc in the Champignon family.)

In a strange twist of fate, the granddaughter of Romania (Damien’s daughter by Marla) married Luka DeMarr when he was older (after Ginger had died, age 68).  Monica gave him another daughter, Lucia.  (Lucia’s desendants live on in Vasilia Champagne, Lucille Straight, Bronson DeMarr and his son, John.)  Luka died age 80 but he was much older because of his time as a vampire.  Luka and family moved to a specially built three-storyed house near the Capp manor.  (It has since been demolished.)

Drako married Morannon and she had two children: Vincent and Lazaria.  Tragedy struck while she was pregnant with Lazaria – she died.  Luka brought her back so that she could have the baby, but she lost her memory in the process, a tragedy for Drako.

Gen. 6: Drako DEMARR

Morannon died young so Drako married his father’s young widow, Monica, his own cousin.  Drako died, age 80.  No record exists of what he did.  The house seemed full of bad memories so Vincent and family moved to a large house overlooking the river.

Vincent married Catriona Champignon (a distant cousin of the main Champignon family).  They had Daeron and Radu.

Gen 7: Vincent DEMARR

He also had an illegitimate daughter, Mary-Sue, by Cate Idler.  (Mary-Sue, coincidentally, now lives in the house of her Collie ancestors.)  Vincent was also a cult leader, and died, age 75, just before his granddaughter’s fifth birthday.

Daeron, as we know, married Brigitte Champignon.  They had five children: Valeria, Demona, Vlad senior (given up for adoption), and twins Vlad and Zev.

Gen 8: Daeron DEMARR

Daeron also had an illegitimate son by Mila Stoyanov: Radimir.  Daeron continued the family tradition of being a cult leader.  He and Brigitte divorced.  Valeria died while at university, and Zev, as we know, died.  Daeron died at the age of 77.

That leaves us with Vlad junior.

Gen. 9: Vlad DEMARR

He is a mad scientist and recently became a vampire.

He had married Miranda Hunter.  They have two sons, who are tenth generation!  Viran is the eldest, and the heir.

Gen. 10: Viran DEMARR

One thing this has taught me – take better pictures of the heirs!
