Viran hadn’t quite got used to the idea of being a vampire.
With both grandparents and father vampires and a working mother, Veles didn’t always get the attention he needed.
Meanwhile his twin sister was clever enough to figure out how to get out of the cot.
Vlad seemed addicted to the telescope, perhaps in the hope of seeing those fabled aliens.
He was in luck.
He was gone for several hours, and apparently no-one noticed his absence. It was unfortunate that he was deposited back on earth during daylight hours.
He felt ill soon afterwards, which puzzled Miranda. How can vampires get ill if they’re dead?
There will soon be a half alien, half vampire child amongst them…
Things started happening, finally.
Having vampire grandparents, a sleeping father, and a mother at work didn’t help the twins.
However, despite being tired, Veles walked to the potty.
Viran finally woke up and could attend to the toddlers.
He put Veles to bed…
and let Verene out.
Meanwhile, attraction between Vlad and Vrancea grew.
Viran was oblivious.
Vlad saw an opportunity to make Vrancea a vampire.
Done.
Viran and Miranda had no idea,
but Verene heard something, like a flapping…
and suddenly Vrancea was there.
Now it was Viran’s turn…
But, Vrancea knew, not everyone could be a vampire, as the children needed attention. She called up the matchmaker who sold potions.
The matchmaker sold her one vial. Vrancea had thought there was a store of vampricillin somewhere in the house but she hadn’t found it. Never mind. Here goes, she thought.
I think she looks better.
Now she could look after the kids…
and was quite attracted to Viran’s new look.
When I last updated, I hadn’t realised that the game hadn’t saved before it crashed! So I had to go through the birth again. I took the opportunity to rename the twins to Veles and Verene.
Talking of makeovers, Viran’s hair looks different now.
He’s a good dad.
The twins quickly grew to toddlers.
They played together,
and get on well (although I’m not sure that Veles is enjoying the hug quite so much).
Their parents taught them to walk. They’re only halfway through their toddlerhood and they can walk and talk and, I think, are also potty-trained.
Over in Bluewater, Viran’s aunt, Demona, died at the age of 77. She had been a captain hero.
[My game has been crashing fairly frequently. I think it’s cc. I’ve been trying to figure out what’s doing it but it’s very time-consuming, taking my time away from actually playing.]
[PS: I really hate the new blog layout when writing (with the menu on the right-hand side) and when I write a post it doesn’t scroll down so my text disappears at the bottom! I have to physically stop and scroll up to see it. Really fucking annoying. Thanks WordPress. If it ain’t broke, don’t fucking fix it! I also hate the new reader display.]
Vrancea soon got pregnant.
Viran is in the science career but Vrancea hasn’t found work yet. She wanted a baby. She didn’t expect twins however. It makes sense. Her father-in-law was a twin.
Viran was at work when Vrancea went into labour.
Luckily it was at night so Miranda could help out.
The first baby – a boy, Vacul.
The second – a girl, Savika.
Miranda introduced her granddaughter to the great outdoors.
Miranda and Vlad complained about the twins smelling, even lecturing them (but did nothing about it).
Yes, Vrancea found herself quite attracted to her father-in-law, especially after she saw his naked body…
However, at dawn, he and his wife always retreated before the sun got too much.
Perhaps it was just as well that Vrancea didn’t get a lot of time alone with him.
Viran’s brother, Kiran, was at university and noticed an interesting dark-haired student in his dorm.
Her name was Kaia and it didn’t take Kiran long to get to know her better.
He worked fast and quickly proposed before someone else did (she attracted a lot of attention).
They graduated about the same time and Kiran decided to move to Bluewater, away from his vampire family. At first they moved into an abandoned castle on the hill above the poorhouse, but the castle had some serious routing issues and was demolished. Instead, they chose a newly-built modern house overlooking the sea.
Kiran found he had to fence off the driveway entrance to the side door to prevent visitors going there instead of the front door. The interior also had to be redecorated, especially the floor which they hated.
They decided to marry privately. Kiran didn’t want an evening wedding in order to invite his parents and really didn’t want any fuss. Thankfully, Kaia also didn’t want a big wedding. She just wanted to get on with life and find work.
Viran and his fiancée returned to Veronaville.
Vrancea was introduced to her mother-in-law-to-be first of all.
Then, when she was outside, she didn’t notice as a bat approached.
Turns out it was her father-in-law-to-be.
There was a dangerous attraction there.
However, they were being watched.
Yes, Vrancea definitely found Vlad attractive.
Miranda would have to keep an eye on her new daughter-in-law.
Viran quickly got a job in the scientist career. Vrancea welcomed him home.
Viran’s uncle came home from work with him one day, but was soon sent on his way.
The wedding was set for late afternoon. Several guests were invited,
including Sebastien, the rock god. He gets attention wherever he goes.
The ceremony:
Viran chatted to his bro, Kiran.
Aunt Demona shared a table with the newly-weds.
Next to her is her son, Vince, who we’ve seen before.
Viran and his new bride sneaked some time alone before the reception was over.
Miranda managed to get to the wedding reception,
and chatted to the bride before they headed off to their honeymoon.
It seems Miranda’s sister-in-law was there, contemplating the change that vampirism had had on her. She felt a little envious of her looking so young and beautiful but would not have wanted to become a vampire to do so.
Vrancea discovered what an empty house it could be during the day with Viran at work. She, herself, had not yet found a job.
At least that’s what I think it was when Vlad brought Arturo Perez back from several years being dead. Arturo was Chantal’s first husband many years ago.
The zombie Arturo wasn’t even used as a servant, but just locked up for Vlad’s amusement.
However, the hungry Arturo started a fire when trying to barbecue some food in his prison.
His zombie life was short. Zombies weren’t much fun after all, thought Vlad.
His son, Viran, was at university enjoying life.
He met the beautiful Vrancea Romani.
He fell in love.
It wasn’t long before he proposed.
Viran soon graduated in science, wanting to be a mad scientist like his father.
His parents came to his graduation, even though it was during the day.
But they didn’t stay long for obvious reasons.
Meanwhile, one of the invited party, Fernando Perez, mourned the zombification and additional death of his distant relative.
Vrancea also graduated and moved back to Veronaville with Viran.
Miranda was getting closer to becoming an elder. Vlad couldn’t bear the thought of seeing her get old. So he used his powers to hypnotise her…
before biting her,
so she transforms into a vampire.
Once the spell had broken, Miranda realised what Vlad had done.
She worked off her anger then confronted him,
for now she had to give up being mayor. Taylor McCullogh (married to one of the Arends clan) took over as mayor. Vlad tried to let her see the good side – that she’d live to see her grandchildren and perhaps great-grandchildren.
Viran, meanwhile, was about to head off for university.
Once he left, it was going to be a lonely life for Kiran – alone every day while his vampire parents slept.
Vlad was still trying to get his wife to become a vampire, so he could continue living with her indefinitely instead of her getting old and dying.
“We could spend so much time together” he argued.
“But then I would have to give up my job. I’ve only just become mayor and there is so much to do!”
“You don’t need a job! We are wealthy!”
He didn’t understand, that she actually enjoyed working, and meeting people. She was saddened. Each morning he disappeared into his secret light-protected room.
It was a lonely life for her during the day.
Kiran noticed that his father had no reflection in the mirror.
It looked weird when his parents finally made up, his mother kissing an invisible person, it seemed.
Kiran grew to a teenager.
Viran, meanwhile, was abducted by aliens.
Luckily he was only a teen, so no alien baby for him.
And oops, I’ve forgotten to take note of what’s happening with the DeMarrs – not much, from memory.
Miranda got promoted to mayor.
With her and Siobhan Mountebank as city planner, they plan on making a few changes. Already a town hall has been built and some houses made cheaper for graduates. There are plans to add a restaurant and park to Bluewater village and monitor the size of the cemeteries with plans to build another one soon.
On a more personal note, Miranda still prays that Vlad will want to cure himself of vampirism.
Little did she know that Vlad was watching. He pretended to be washing windows when she finished.
But no, Vlad wants to be around to watch grandchildren grow up.
Viran will soon be going to university, but there’s some time to go yet before grandchildren are on the scene.
